We have qualified home service professionals for your home reno whether it's a Kitchen Renovation, Bathroom Remodel or perhaps a Basement Renovation.

Our directory is free for homeowners to also help find qualified home service professionals for home repairs such as plumbers and electricians as well as maintenance services for your heating or landscaping needs. The community of homeowners write reviews based on their experiences with home reno contractors which helps you decide whether you would like to hire a particular home improvement company.

What makes HomeRenoCare unique?
At HomeRenoCare we have a Preferred Member status that home service providers must apply for. Then we use unique vetting process to analyze the reputation and history of the company that is applying. If approved they receive the “HomeRenoCare Approved” badge other listing. It’s not just a pretty sticker, it gives homeowners the security of knowing that this a highly reputable service provider and that if there is any dispute, HomeRenoCare will mediate on their behalf to resolve the problem. Customers are encouraged to sign up and have access there own profile where they can collect favourite photos from vendors and leave home contractor reviews. The quality of our contractors is more reliant on our vetting process than user reviews but we certainly encourage everyone to leave their reviews.  A common complaint that we hear about sites like Homestars is that some have so many reviews and all positive so people are skeptical about the validity.

We have more Toronto contractors and home services pros than other cities currently, but as we grow you'll find all home services you need all across Canada.

Should You Stay in the House or Move out During a Home Renovation?

Renovating your house can be very exciting, very satisfying and quite profitable. It is a euphoric feeling when your home renovation is successfully completed and it looks even better than you imagined. However, it can also be a stressful time for all involved.

There are so many decisions that you must make for your home reno. First you have to decide what you need, then how much you can spend. Then you have to choose a general contractor, decide on the layout plans, pick out all the finishings like flooring, kitchen cabinets, paint and the list goes on. Once you know how much it will cost and how long it will take, you may need to decide whether or not you should live in your house during the renovation.

The decision of whether or not to live in your home during a renovation will certainly have an effect on your stress level and it's not cut and dry. While you may think it's easier to move out, there may be other factors that make that a difficult choice, not the least of which is the financial issue. Moving out may not be an affordable option for you. There is much to consider.

You could probably do without a living room or bedroom for a while, but a kitchen is difficult to live without and the bathroom is not impossible to live without unless of course you have more than one.

There are some home renovation projects that leave you with no choice but to vacate your home for at least a portion of the renovation project. Any work that is going to leave some of your house exposed to the elements will certainly require that you move out for at least the period that would make you home unsafe to live in.

If you’re facing such a decision we have a great article that may help you decide whether you should stay or go during your home renovation.
